No. 02How it works
Build evidence, then close the gaps.
Step 1
Commit, then reveal
Choose an answer before you flip the card. Then use the cited handbook or regulation explanation to correct the reasoning, not just memorize an option.
Step 2
Review when due
Spaced review brings due cards back first, most overdue first, before adding new material. Each sitting stays focused instead of turning into a bank-wide cram.
Step 3
Mock under the real clock
Sit a timed mock with the test’s real question count, time limit, and 70% passing score. That result—not study activity—is the evidence used to find weak areas.
Step 4
Repair and re-test
Use the ACS breakdown to review the areas below the readiness target, then take another timed mock to produce fresh evidence.
Flashcards support study, but they cannot put you “on track” by themselves. The app’s readiness signal requires at least 85% mock-exam accuracy in every tracked ACS area; an unattempted area is not treated as learned.
No. 03The cockpit view
What you’ll actually see.

No. 04Your instructor voice
An instructor voice that knows where you stand.
Spoken guidance welcomes you back, walks you through each Area of Operation, and talks you through your readiness before test day — so you hear where you stand, not just see a score.
Prefer a quiet cockpit? Switch to audio-only or text any time.

No. 07Questions, answered
The honest fine print.
- Which FAA knowledge tests does Koydo Flight Academy cover?
- Nine tests in one app: Private Pilot (PAR), Instrument Rating (IRA), Commercial Pilot (CAX), Airline Transport Pilot (ATM), Sport Pilot (SPA), Recreational Pilot (RPA), Flight Instructor (FIA), Fundamentals of Instructing (FOI), and Part 107 Remote Pilot (UAG).
- Are the questions current?
- The question bank is written around the current FAA ACS codes and testing-supplement figures, and every answer explanation cites the official handbook or regulation it comes from. We track FAA revisions — including the Airman Knowledge Testing Matrix — and update the bank as they land.
- Can I study offline?
- You'll need an internet connection while you study — questions load from our servers, and your progress syncs to your free Koydo account so you can switch between phone and tablet without losing your place.
- What do I get for free?
- 60 Private Pilot starter flashcards and one full timed mock exam — free, no card required. That's enough to feel how the review deck and the exam simulator work before you unlock anything.
- Is it a subscription?
- No. Each test's full question bank is a one-time purchase starting at $20. Buy the test you're studying for — unlimited mock exams and weak-area remediation included — and it stays yours.
- When can I download the app?
- Soon — Koydo Flight Academy is on final approach to the App Store for iPhone and iPad, with Android close behind. Join the waitlist on this page and we'll email you the moment boarding opens. Just the one boarding call — no spam.
- Does it replace ground school?
- No — it prepares you for the FAA knowledge test. Most tests still require an instructor endorsement to sit (Part 107 doesn't), and no app replaces flight training. Think of it as the study half of your ground work — then go earn the checkride.
